Anyone know where to get 5x10 plywood for the sides of tear? We were going to use 4x10 sheet but was advised to go with 5' tall but we don't want to piece the sides.

What thickness are you looking for? Have you tried local lumber yards (not box stores)?

Not near Doylestown, I'm in the York area which is about 2 -2 1/2hrs west! There is a lumber yard in Middletown (near Harrisburg) that may be able to get some, but I am not positve yet. I am not ready to start my next build (I will want 5x10 - 1/4" thick) yet. If I get a chance, I will call them today and let you know. I had found a place in MD that had 3/4" in at least 4x10, but can't remember where it was or the name. I had found it through Google search.

Thanks MJ, but no the ones I was talking about are in Maryland. I thought of Boulter, but was not sure if they wanted to pay shipping.

This company also has 5'x10' marine plywood. Not cheap though. They deliver to some areas for free. They are located in Maryland.

i do not know if you found it or not i try to no luck
I ended up cutting a 2 in lap joint on the end & top to get 5x10
I used ext grade glue and screwed it togather when it was dry i took the screws out filled and sanded the holes and joint this worked great and a lot cheeper
mostly if you are going to skin the outside like i did

Does anyone know about 5X10 plywood in 1/2" Birch here in the Kansas City area? or within driving distance, OK city, Tulsa maybe. Thanks.
I would like to try cabinet grade plywood when I do get ready for a tear.

I hate the cheap stoff from Home Depot and Lowes which seems to chip quite easilly even with a new fine tooth plywood plade, maybe a carbide next time will be better. Thanks.

When I was looking for 4x10 with one side finished in birch I was quoted close to $200 each plus shipping. I glued 1/2" marine to 1/4" birch using 4X8 offset 2' on either end. It worked out well and the cost was closer to $60 per side as I remember.

We just got our plywood. Our friend who is also building his tear had a customer who could get us anything we wanted. (Can't give out his name because it's not something he usually supplies.) Although we are very happy with what we got, it's not what we ordered...

...we wanted the Birch top and bottom at $80. sheet and ordered three of those but what we got was the Maple at $160. per sheet. Something got translated wrong in the ordering process. Thought we were gonna get a great deal but oh well, we paid what we had originally budgeted and got some really nice looking wood for our sides!
