Ribs / dowel

I am sure this is not a original thought but has anybody tried using 1 3/8 round dowel as ribs instead of flat wood to tie the cabin together? It seems that they would be stronger and easier to countersink. :thinking:

Dowels would not give you any place to attach the headliner or the roof to. You're better off using ribs, either 2x2s or 1x2s.

Even if you flattened the top and bottom. why would you be unable to attach the roof or headliner? Granted this is my very first Tear, that is why I have all the questions.

You want to maximize the surface area for the glue to adhere to.
