I just got home with 1/4" Cabinet Grade Birch Plywood from Lowes for $10. I bought 12 of them.

Thank God that some employee labeled them wrong.

Thanking God for your dishonesty? You knew it was priced incorrectly, wasn't that enough?
Stealing is wrong.

Hate to rain on your parade but I agree with Steve. I once bought a pair of expensive speakers from a big box store. The cashier rang the price up as a "pair" instead of "each". I could have walked out with half priced speakers but I couldn't do it. When I brought it to her attention, she thanked me profusely.

While it doesn't meet the techincal definition of stealing, it is still wrong. Especially if you knew it was wrong.

The Ten Commandments

1. Do not worship other gods.
2. Do not worship idols.
3. Do not misuse God's name.
4. Keep the Sabbath holy.
5. Honor your father & mother.
6. Do not murder.
7. Do not commit adultery.
8. Do not steal.
9. Do not lie.
10. Do not covet.

Looks like ya broke 3, 8, & 10, and possibly 9 with a lie of ommision. All on one trip to Lowe's, uh oh

covet - def. to feel inordinate desire for what belongs to another

Hey now, judging's not my game!
Lowe's is funny like that. I've called several pricing errors to their attention and they rarely want to do anything about it. Too much like work for the cashiers I suppose! I'm not the type to complain to their bosses (except for the one guy who took a forklift full of lumber over my head!) so I just try to do the right thing when I can.

As an owner of a retail store, I am very thankful when someone points out that I have made an error in my pricing, sometimes it just happens...I need all the help I can get to help curb the loss from shoplifters...and yes it does happen in a fabric/quilting store, even with a customer base of over 45 yrs. old and women. I always feel like I should point it out even if they don't do anything about it because I have worked retail in the past and I know how important it is to have that register come out right!

That said, I totally understand how exciting it can be to get a great deal so congrats to zlamb-you did the right thing and still got a great deal!

I'd say #10, Covet. But I'm still glad to know there are honest people out there and that they are willing to speak up! Just don't start throwing stones! (He that is without sin...?)

I believe it's true that if something is mismarked, they have to sell it to you for that price. When I tell the sales people about an error, my reward has always been that I get the mismarked price plus a nice thank-you from them as well! Of course, if the mismarked price is too high......
