not trailer should I reinforse floor?

should I build a wood frame under the floor if I do not attach it to a trailer.

I will start in the truck bed and may be drug off and pushed on.

will it snap underneath??

I sure would. In fact that's what I did recently. You can check out the frame I built for my removeable trailer. 2x3's with 1/2" plywood floor.

For that kind of use U would definately frame it out and put a bottom skin on it and insulate while I was at it.

under 3/4 " plywood floor for my removable pod im building. I also used primer sealer on all sub floor parts. & caulked all seems....Then it all was painted w/oil based 20 yr. barn paint...2 coats...Even though it won't be exposed to direct weather,it seems wet weather tight...I will inspect it often & touch up as needed..Takeing it on & off might mar,scratch,etc,..so touch up will most likely be necessary...If weight is not a problem, the few xtra pounds won't matter. I was taught,build a solid floor & a tight leak proof roof if you want it to last. Now if the wind & rain would go away...maybe i could get a little more done..good luck...

I was thinking about this a bit and thought that maybe some small replaceable skids and or rub rails might be in order to save wear and tear on your cabin body. 1x2's should suffice.

Our local welder said he could make up some alluminum or steel skids...about 1/4 in thick..a couple of in wide..Could then be screwed to the bottom side of the2x4's...running the length of the 2x4's..8 ft..That way it wouldn't add the the height of the cabin...will ponder this...or even 4 or 5 steel plates spread out along the bottom of the 2x4's...might do the trick..just a little protection sliding on & off the truck..or while mounting back on the trailer...What do you think...?
