Diamond Plate

Postby jasonnilsson » Fri Mar 25, 2005 8:57 pm

Does anyone know of a good supplier in the northwest of 6' wide Diamond Plate? How durable is the Starbrite sold by Amerimax? I know I know more questions from a newby... :)
Thanks

Star Brite

Postby KZ76017 » Sat Mar 26, 2005 12:39 pm

I saw some Star Brite the other day when I stopped by a place in Mansfield, TX. I went the the manufacturer (AmerimaxBP) and they said I would have to go to Texas Aluminum down the street as they didn't sell direct to the public.

Texas Aluminum had some of it and it is mainly a covering as it is pretty thin. It would work as a covering on the front but it you want to make running boards, you should buy the real plate so you can actually step on it.

StarBrite is made of a light gauge polished aluminum with an embossed tread plate finish to replicate that of heavy gauge steel tread plate at a fraction of the cost.

Jason,

I found a supplier here in Anchorage for a 5x16 sheet. They may have 6'. But I can't remember the company. I believe they are near Dowling. I will be ready soon for a 5x20 sheet of AL for my roof. If I find one that works for you I'll let you know.
