Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

I was contemplating building on a 5'x8' redtrailer but found a steal on a sturdier 5'x9'. After consideration I realized the walls may be more difficult to construct since a 4x8 piece of plywood won't work.

Does anyone have any ideas or plans for a 5' x 9' platform?

Build a 1' box on the front for extra storage?

You can adapt most any profile to that. If you want a cubby style you can just add a foot to the center where it it flat. If you are putting aluminum on the outside, then just splice the extra length on with more plywood.

I'm 5 1/2' x 5 1/2 ' x 10'

If you look thru this picture to the house side you will see a 1x4 has been used to splice the sheets at the door edge. This minimizes the length of the splice to just above and below the door the rear splice is at the galley wall. Cruise thru the album 13 14 15 16 you will get the idea. I later guled the luan exterior on using 2x4's on edge and clamps. I off set the veneer luan to the front of the door to stager the joints.

There is another alternative to building your teardrop. You can use these plans as a guideline for building it and shorten the flat part of this profile by 7-1/2"(60" stays the same, 72" becomes 64-1/2", 84" becomes 76-1/2", etc., the vertical dimensions stay the same).

Thank you all for your suggestions. Are there any lumber distributors you would recommend for oversized plywood that are reasonably priced?
I found a trailer and I'm excited to begin with the floor and sides. Also, the designs and photos are greatly appreciated.

...reasonably priced, oversized ply does not exist...use a scarf joint, a biscuit jioner or the slot and spline method to make your own...any good waterproof wood adhesive will work but epoxy is what I prefer............

I think it's only fair to note here that OSB is not a very good material for building.

If you do a search on OSB, up there in the menu, you'll read some very negative comments on that for a building material.

Looks like he solved his problem with a real good score on windows and doors.

I am located in Monterey, CA and ideally I would like to purchase the sides pre-cut. I am working on a 5' x 9' frame and was wondeinng if anyone knows of a supplier in California with 5' x 10' exterior grade plywood that will cut out-the pattern of my choice?

I know its alot to ask but with my limited working space I believe this may be my best option.
