Anyone used it? I found it at the local Lufkin Trailer manufacturer. It is 103" wide by 0.040" thick. Only $10.50 per foot. Think it will work OK? He did not know anything about the alloy.

I assume that's per linear foot and not square foot.

Your right 10.50 per linear ft. Will it work ok? I thought I read it might scratch easier. Anybody used it?

I was thinking it might scratch easier, because it seems to be softer than the sheet aluminum I have looked at. I would also like to hear from someone that has used it, as I can get it here for about the same price. The guy at the trailer shop didn't know, as they only use it on the roofs of trailers and trucks, and don't really care if it scratches on top.

Same problem here in Oklahoma City. Found some for approximately the same price. Alloy unknow and thickness was .050. Cannot be any worse that the metal sheets I bought at local sheet metal supplier. Is .040 thickness, can sure tell the difference between the local truck repair supply of metal. Weird seeing that much aluminum in a roll. First thought was "Wow can build 100 teardrops" second thought was "I must be crazy".

My tear is 65" wide and 10' long. I don't think I have any other choice but to use it. I can't find anything else to use, although I haven't ruled out the paint option.

Was looking at aluminum yesterday, and got to thinking about the rolled aluminum again and wondered how easily it will flatten out to use on the sides. The top would be no problem, but will it want to bubble out on the sides?

You can go with a Stay-Puff MarshMellow theme
Seriously, from all I've read, many tears puff out like marshmellows when they heat up and return to normal when they cool down. I would think that with the outside trim and door opening trim the aluminum siding would hold in place pretty well.

I used the 103" .040 aluminium roof skin on my current teardrop and it is easy to work and cut with hand tools. Yes it is soft but not really much more so than the .032 flat sheet I used on the sides. As my teardrop is 69" wide I really had no choice other than this or a seam down the center of the roof.
Time will tell if the correct choice was made!
