Can , would some one please tell tell me how much to cut from the walls in the hatch lid area, I am thinking some where in the area of 3/8"to allow for gasket and skin thickness. Iam afraid to cot tolittle since it becomes a serious chore to recut .

Jack, the trick is to add everything up...the thickness of any trim plus the seal...remember to allow for at least 50% compression on the seal...the numbers should add upto between 1/4 to 3/8th...if you end up with a tad too much space, a thicker or extra piece of seal can be used to take up the slack......

I was all most sure that was the correct way to go, but not sure enought to start cutting. I have the walls, inner and out completed along with most of the cabinets. I sure wish I had found this site before I began construction. I have learned a lot to late. Thanks a lot.

I cut mine as in the generic Benroy plans but then couldnt find a seal to fit  I added a strip of roof skin to the underside of the hatch edges to double the thickness and close the gap up a bit.
