Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

I bought this nice table mount bracket, with the intention of putting it on the side of my Weekender for easy mounting and removal of a side table

You can see how it goes together



My question is, which half should go on the table, and which on the Weekender? I'm thinking the outer piece (on the left in the last photo) goes on the weekender, while the inner piece goes on the table. Anybody able to confirm or correct my assumption?

I have mine mounted as you have stated with the piece on the left mounted to the side of the tear and the flat side up.

Hi, Kerry. Flat side up? So you fold the table down to remove it? I was thinking the rounded side up, and lifting the table to remove it.

The narrow piece gets mounted to the wall. The larger piece gets mounted to the table.

Then to install the table, you hold the table at about a 30 degree angle, set it on top on the small bracket, and then drop it down to horizontal.

Yes, I have to fold mine down and I used an adjustable paint handle as a leg. You should be able to see some pics in my build and camping photos.

Thanks, Mike. That's how I envisioned it, but it seemed to work regardless which was on the wall and which on the table.

I guess there is more than one way to mount it. I found this on-line at a site selling the supports: Link

Okay, so now I have seen 3 ways, and all look like they would work. I'm no better off than when I started!


I am going to go with "Round on top".

I did mine like Planovet's picture - larger piece on trailer wall, smaller one on the table end. Lift up to remove. It works.

Now I gotta go out and take a look...

When I tried it the opposite way, I had to start with the table at 30 degrees below horizontal, and it never stayed up against the wall.

so this is the way to go...

I agree with Mike. My side table came out of another trailer and it was mounted with the narrow piece on the wall with the rounded side up. Of course the larger "hooked" piece mounts on the table edge. It's easy to put up the table in place because the "hooked" piece catches on the wall mounted piece, then the table rotates downward and into place. Works perfect.

So, I guess my way won't work then!

Just because it has been for the last 4 years.

Personally I would rather not have any pressure on the part that is attached to the teardrop. If you have a problem with any type of support for your table when it is put in from the up postion then it will put pressure on the part attached to the tear and possibly damage it. If you mount it the way I did and the leg gives out then the table just falls and there is no damage to the teardrop. Just my opinion!!

I did both mine like Planovet's pic and they work great. Just remember to stagger the screws from the table to the wall pieces or the heads may hit each other when put together
