I was once again inspired by JuneauDave as always. I got an idea and happened to run across a Sauna Thermometer. And them we happen to have plenty here for some reason.

I took off the gauge itself and the frame I decided to fit together with a Marine Interior Light. As the wood is very nice. This will look decent in the galley and interior possibly we,ll see. :) So a simple light frame from another subject :)

Here are couple of photos of 2 different lights and the sauna thermometer.

The hole is a good fit. I just need to add a round piece of thin ply to the back.

The first light is with a stainless back. There may be other lights that could fit just as nice. but these came to sight for now.

Heikki,

Pretty cool how common items, when combined, make a very professional looking piece.

I like to take things apart, to see how they're made.
I've often been dissapointed after finding out how cheap and flimsy some of the components are, but when combined, they look fantastic!

Guess its all in the packaging

Nice job!

Good Morning Rob. Its always a pleasure to hear from you.

I saw the nice light fixture JuneauDave made and I started thinking of somthing similar. Well then accidentally I was looking at one of our Sauna thermometers here and just want to start playing with it so I took it apart and went down to a shop that sells Marine lights and Bingo it fit.  Now its just to pic out one of them that will fit the best. Since there are also some nice Leds however Im not sure if they will be bright enough.

Most likely choose one of the 2 that I show here. But yes it will look decent without having to put too much effort into it. Somthing a bit different :) :)

Best of all the Sauna thermometer still works, I just decided to grab the wooden frame form it thats all.

Heikki,

I'm always impressed by the amount of effort and thought you put into the different phases of your projects.

All the time out at sea is good for thinking, no?

Rob what can I say except a big thank you. My wife states that I spend too much time on the different phases. But thats one of my traits and character. I think and think and then do and change things. Not always on the positive side. But its my nature.

Its my learning process I guess. The next tear should be a lot better in detail and things done correctly as as well as faster. Being out at sea is certainly a place to clear the mind and yes its the fresh air at sea that brings me ideas many times. We also live very close to the sea. Which in summer is absolutely great. As is summer here in Scandinavia.

Id sure love to have a tear such as yours one day. Thats so nicely done.

Thanks again Rob

Classic Finn   :)

Yeah when I finish it   Yes the wife is great and she,s been there to do some of the work as well. And she is very picky with her artwork also.

The way the times are at the moment Im lucky to be playing with teardrops. And also the wife likes it as well but no cars for the time being. Just too expensive. But in hopes that times will get better. Meanwhile its 1 teardrop to git done. I dont want to work on it another winter or summer after this.

Im working a lot now on the tear interior. As best as I can.

Classic Finn ;)
