Anybody using the cheap Ventline fans sold on eBay?



It does't look as if it moves a lot of air, but considering the size of our trailers, perhaps may be appropriate. Anyone have experience with these? At $40-45 shipped, it sure is attractive compared to $100+ for other fans.

I havent read any folks having that fan however the Fan tastic fan has real good feedback. And real good service as well.

Brad, we had one in an old class "C" motorhome...it was extremely noisy...I have read of a few who tried them and were disapointed...if you want less expensive than a Fantastic Fan, try the O2Cool units from WalMart...you will havvta play around with them a bit to use as an exhaust fan but at less than 20USD they work well...............

I use that vent..........but with the excellent air circulation I get from the door windows and front windows I never even hooked the vent up for power.

I had one.. same problem... noise.. and only one speed.. high.

Thanks for the thoughts. I just can't see spending 12-20% of my total build cost on a vent! I'm contemplating using the non-powered version and mounting a computer fan in it.

I used the ventline brand. Loud is all I can say. Replaced the fan with a computer fan for less than 20bucks. Works fine but rarely use it. Bought same vent with no fan for second tear. Ken

On my TD I used the Comfort Air from Surflo. It is as promised and is actually whisper quiet. The fan control is a rheostat, so infinite speeds are achievable. Here's a link http://www.shurflo.com/pages/RV/rv_cate ... eries.html

yep mine was built with one of those.... Same opinion here.... its loud and only one speed... High. I've been considering installing a reostat on mine to slow it down a bit but not sure its worth the trouble. It pushes a lot of air and I get used to it after about 5 or 10 minutes of it being on.

I don't think 1 computer fan is going to give you the results you are looking for.

A computer 120mm case fan will put out 35 to 100CFM depending on speed and Db. I plan on using a couple of them with speed controller. I saw one 25mm case fan advertised,low rpm high CFM. Curved blade design has a contribution to lower amount of sound.

I couldn't justify spending the bucks for a "real" vent fan. So, I'm going Ken's route. I have the regular powered Ventline fan now and if I get tired of the noise (actually, now that I have it and tried it out, it doesn't seem that noisy) I may replace the fan with a computer fan.
