T Frame floor mount question

Can someone here tell me how the floor would be mounted onto a frame like this? To me it would look very weak.  :scratchthinking: This is what I can purchase as an entire unit here. All approved also.

Dont look too good on the front with just the floor resting on the towbar instead of a normal V shape

There are install plates in the back but I cant see any on the front .

Here is the pic.

It looks like to me by the picture that the tongue extends. There is a pulley and cable running under the frame. It doesn't look like it has much of a suspension either. I am not sure you could use this to build a teardrop.

Jeremy, I could be wrong(wouldn't be surprised) BUT, I believe that is a torsion axle and the pulley/cable arrangement is probably part of the parking brake system required on EU approved trailers.......

I don't see any reason that frame wouldn't work under a TD except it might be a bit short to get the wheels/fenders behind the doors without a terribly short tongue.
Personally I doubt I would use it because I prefer a bit more frame and springs but...... it looks doable.

Agreed -- it looks kind of short... needs a stretch!

Madjack you are absolutely correct that is a torsion axle from Al-ko with the brake system.

I was looking at the pic again but I cant seem to picture the floor being done on it. Im going to call the company to see if there are other kits available close to this. Maybe with the V shaped towbar. Somehow even though its not the best photo it seems as though there are 2 holes in the top of the towbar there as to hold mounting screws or bolts but maybe its an illusion on the photo.

Also it does look short as well.

Classic Finn

Aren't those mounting plates on the axle?

Should make a nice trailer that.

Out of interest Heikki, how much would that set you back?

Lee.

By the way I got my camera working today so I will take some photos of the atwood stabilisers I got.

With a sub-frame mounted under the TD body, attached to that frame, it would work. This would give it rigidity.
Though as others have said, that frame may need the be lengthened a bit.

 All in all, it a nice looking unit.

I was looking at the Al-ko stuff, but I never did find a source for it. If you tear is designed to be 'frameless' and you could get the right length, this one would work really good. It certainly would work for the uber ultra -- assuming you could get it rigged for 500-550 lb
