Way too heavy for this kind of application. And you really don't want to use them for anything if you can help it. They are designed as a one time use axle. None of their parts are interchangeable with any other trailer axle manufacturers parts. They have lighter bearings, and different spindles and drums, plus if you use the brakes they are junk. The tires for these type of axles generally carry about 90# of air and the springs are really stiff for heavy loads.
I know guys use them all the time because they can be had pretty cheap, but if something happens to one while traveling, getting it repaired is next to impossible without an axle replacement. Also if you don't get the tires on the hub straight (and they can be a pain) they will wear out very fast.
They just aren't worth the aggrivation.
