Soldering aluminum joints?

Postby bbarry » Thu Apr 30, 2009 10:54 pm

Here goes my crazy mind again...

Could one solder all the joints in their aluminum skinned trailer? I.E. the joints between trim pieces, skin, etc. It seems as if this would give you a nice finished look with the added benefit of waterproofing the joint. Most aluminum solders appear to melt around 730 degrees F. Would this heat be an issue to the underlying wood?
