Ok I don't have a carport or garage as of yet to store my tear under so I plan on putting a blue tarp over it. I though somewhere in a post someone said to put slats under the tarp so air can circulate on the bottom side so you don't have trapped condensation. Anyone in the same situation and what would you suggest. I do not want to leave it out in the weather 365 days a year

We bought a popup trailer cover from Camping World. It seems to be doing a good job so far.

If'n it were me...I'd get one of the brown/silver tarps, rather than the blue ones. They are heavier and I think a tighter weave, the UV doesn't tear them up as quickly as a blue one, and yes I'd put some stickers under it, check it frequently during bad weather spells like unloading snow on it to make sure it's doing it's job. Just my opinion and experience, I've had 3 sit outside at least 1 winter with snow and rain. Doug

We used a heavy canvas tarp for ours over the winter. It kept the sun of it and the snow away but it left some really nasty marks on the aluminum. Kinda like stains....or wear marks. We need to do a repolish. :(

I never covered a tear, but I had a garage queen that I covered, a 1986 Porsche 951 (944 turbo). One thing about ‘real’ car covers is that they can actually breathe even though they are waterproof. They are often multi-layered with special fabrics and coatings. I think my cover ran about $250 bucks, but the car could be covered without causing any problems, mold, paint damage etc. I don’t imagine a tear is any different (that’s why I suspect that some have had trouble with using regular poly tarps). I think the reason the ‘SUV’ cover was so expensive – was it was probably an actual vehicle cover and not just a plain tarp.

FWIW. What you might be able to do it build kind of a poly-covered PVC shelter that is just slightly bigger than your tear (so that the tarp is not in contact with the tear and air can circulate and keep from getting damp and whatnot).
