DIY Little Guy style hatch?

I'm still scheming & planning, lurking & dreaming....

Been looking at the Little Guy hatch seal setup and wonder if anyone has ever built their own in this way.... Here's a pic (borrowd from DIDG on this forum - thanks BTW)...

I like the fact...
The edge moulding flows right round uninteruppted (A)
There is then some kinda inner seal (B)
This then leaves a little channel in between (C) so any water would naturally flow 'down and out'.

Anyone built like this? Did it work out OK? Seems neater to me than an edge moulding overlapping the sides which could chafe when opening/closing the hatch....

Thanks once again to your uber helpful guys & girls :applause:

I too like the clean lines and the water-channeling effect of this design.

Len (len19070) has come up with a similar system. He uses insert molding on both the outer edge of the sidewall/roof and inner edge along the hatch/roof to form the "channel." I believe he uses a spacer underneath the hurricane hinge (hatch hinge) to elevate it 3/8" above the roof surface.

Scroll down to the second post on this topic. There are links to other pictures showing more details. http://www.tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?t=27272&highlight=hatch

Most likely I'll be using a variation of this on my build.
