This is what I have to work with, from outside of the 2x2 steel it's 4 ft, middle of tires is about 62 inches, from where the widest point of the v starts to the center of tire about 78 1/2, then another 55 1/2 to the rear, making a total of 134 from the v in front. I don't think I want anything wider then the middle of each tire, and cutting the sides isn't a problem, I'd rather leave the axle location where it is and cut the rear. I like the way the Grumman looks and am thinking of tweaking the size. Another point is the dropped floor. Storage or bigger entry? This is where I start. Any input would help.

make sure you get all of the rust off -- sand blasting usually ain't too expensive

The rust looks worst then it is, it could use a good sand blasting which I'll have to get around to. This thing is a pig, lifting it by the tongue, it's already heavy. After looking at other profiles it would seem a kampmaster or a ken skill would fit it better. I would really have to load the back and keep the front as light as possible. Axle bushing is shot so that would be the first big hit. Found a direct replacement for a scotty that is 2000lbs and only about $250.
