I've officially started The Salty Tear !!!

The recent posts about going ahead with construction even without a trailer frame got me motivated so... I went to the orange box this morning and got framing lumber, screws, and plywood and built the floor/frame assembly. Spent the morning cutting all the half-lap joints, dry-fit it all, then took it apart for assembly. Glued and screwed all the joints and checked it for square - 1/16 out over the 123.75 span - easy enough to pull when attaching the plywood floor. Using 2x4 frame and 1/4 ply on bottom and 3/8 ply on top with foam panels glued in between. Plenty strong and still light enough for me to lift it into place by myself. I started pictures also but I still live in the film world so it will be a while before I use up a roll. Next stop - making a plywood template for the sides. I'm going 10' long so I will have to join ply sheets together - still not sure which method I'm going to go with. Easiest would be buy 4x10 but oak or birch is all that's available here and it's $134.00/sheet!
