I've built quite a few.
Very simple
1 length of 2" or so thin wall pipe (only as long as the awning is needed) Aluminum if possible
A bag of pop rivets
A length of awning rail
4 adjustable tent poles from Wally World
_________________________________________________________
Mount the awning rail to the side of the coach and to the 2" or so thin wall pipe.
The thin wall pipe should be 4" longer than your awning fabric.
At the end of the 2" pipe drill 2 3/8" holes straight through, holes should be at 1, 3, 6 & 9 o'clock making the awning rail at 9 o'clock. Your uprights and out lookers will fit into these.
Your uprights and out looker rods are the Wally world poles.
As for the fabric, if you have an RV dealer around see if he has any wrecked awnings that you could have the fabric from. They will probably give this to you (I know I do)
If NOT
Select the fabric you want, sew the ends then sew 2 lengths of wire or cloths line into the fabric by simply overlapping the fabric over the wire.
MAKE SURE the wire and the fabric will fit through the awning rail.
Insert the fabric into the outer tube then slide the other end into the rail on the coach.
Extend the fabric and outer tube then insert 2 Wally world tubes into the vertical holes on the outer tube.
Then insert the other 2 poles into the horizontal holes, extend them and put the but ends onto the awning rail on the coach.
These poles must be tight!
Note; The poles should have plastic bumpers on them. You may want to replace them with rubber,
Happy Trails
