Body over the tires

Postby WarPony » Sun Apr 24, 2005 9:41 pm

I've changed my mind on the design on my tear. I want to put the body over the tires. Not completely stuck up underneath the body but half over. I've seen some pics of this but can't find them. Can somebody shoot me in the right direction :worship: ?

GeorgeT has done that - his trailer isn't teardrop-shaped but that's not relevant to this subject.

George's personal gallery is here, though you may find more pictures by looking at all his posts here.

Body over the tires

I made the same decision for the Zephyr

I started with a 4X 8 HF Trailer. I wanted more room inside so I built a wooden frame to support the TD floor and mounted the frame to the trailer with stainless carriage bolts. It is 67" wide OD

My Build Journal is found at
http://www.nfdc.net/home/cbdb/Micro%20Camper.htm

Here is the under side of the frame

This is the way the framed deck looked as I started the build

You can do it too!
