Bottom coating idea.....?

Hi All!
I was just wondering what you all thought of the idea of using a truck bed liner, such as "RHINO LINER" as a protective bottom coating instead of the most common roof coating? If it's as good as I've heard, seems like an inpenetrable covering that would never need touching up or re-coating.
Thoughts?

Most bed liner type products only work well on a almost surgically clean painted surface. They are also more expensive that necessary for what you want to achive. I used auto rubberized undercoating in spray cans. I think it did a good job and is easy to touch up IF necessary, but it hasn't been yet. I did it as the last step and I like how it sealed everything.

I agree that, while it's a good product, Rhino Liner is entirely too expensive for this use. I also used spray undercoating (Mar-Hyde). It took 5 cans to get it to my liking.
The stinky black goop is even cheaper and just as effective.
Just my two cents,
Brad

Thanks Guys!
I guess I'll stick to proven basic elements and spend what I save on more toys!

My trailers have "stinky black goop" that hasn't needed any touch-ups for 3 years I would think your choice in bottom coatings is dependent on what type of towing you intend to do. Even bed liner might not be tough enough to skid the trailer over downed trees on a trail. Some people have been successful using just paint. One thing you won't want to do is like some RV manufacturers and put a sheet of plastic under it. plastic sheeting can and will hold moisture in between the floor and plastic causing the floor to eventually rot.
