Door locks and galley locks

O.K., what do you suggest for 1" thick doors? I have a plywood stop inside the jamb like Steve F. and others have used. I have seen the kind where you drill a 7/8 hole and shove the cylinder through they have a 5/16" throw. Any other ideas?

Image my concern is the mounting bracket will have to be so close to the door edge that it will come between the door and the inside plywood stop lip.. I have not bought these yet but, see nothing else out there that will work.

O.K. the longest one I can find has a cylinder length of 1 1/8 so, if I put a 1/4" block where the lock will mount inside the door the throw will work perfectly to catch the back of the plywood stop. The front of the lock(outside will be recessed 1/8". Not ideal but it will work. The only other way is to recess the the mounting bracket into the door and notch the jamb just behind the door lip stop. chisel work.

update. I ended up going with a cam lock I found at the box store. It went in well and looks great & does it's job. This was used on the door. on the inside I am going to use old fashioned bolt locks.
