Hey guys i just sprayed some undercarriage on the bottom part of the plywood, it took 2 cans at 3.99 at the local ace shop.

do you think its enough against the road and weather. the teardrop will be in the garage away when not in use.

The most vulnerable place on the plywood is the endgrain, that is the place that usually wicks up the water and causes delamination. Is your undercoating enough? I dunno, did you make it waterproof?

I went to an extreme to prevent water from entering the plywood floor on my teardrop, it was encapsulated in epoxy resin, the end grain got 3 coats the flat exterior 2 coats. Then it was coated with the black goo from hell, better know as plastic roof coating mostly to absorb the impact of road debris, rocks, etc. It's another one of those "personal preference" things.

waterproof? ohhh darn. this spray i got i guess its the same as the kind they spray under automobiles. its says its rust, water, and so on resistant, it also reduces noise so it says. i have some paper they place on the roof before placing chingels, im gonna put some on there. it had some of that when i first got it. man do i hope this helps, im gonna get a couple more cans on monday and spray the sides where you said its vulnerable. thanks for the help buddy. :D

I originally used some of the spray automotive undercoating and I didn't feel comfortable with it at all, way too thin for my taste. I covered it with the roof tar and I felt better. You can see the old and the new right as I was finishing putting on the tar.

Sometimes when you go adding stuff to keep out water you make a water trap. Best to leave the treated ply to drain. mho.

Miriam, what if the ply is untreated, should I coat the bottom edge with something?
