Hello.
Just wondering what is the norm for this measurement. It seems that it would depend on the thickness of a mattress. The mattress should be a coupla inches higher than the doors bottom?
Thanks,

In our Little Guy the door frame to floor dimension is about 4 1/2". We have a 4" foam mattress that compresses easily and the door frames were cutting into our thighs getting in and out of the trailer. I made a seat like this for each side and the mattress lies over them. The wood was left over from an earlier project and probably is wider than necessary, but it works for us.

Same for my little guy, I bought a 2" memory foam topper, better nights sleep and door problem solved. I would definately make the door frame at least 1" lower than the height of the matress, and 2" might be better.

...a rule of thumb is half the thickness of the mattress or somewhere in the neighborhood of two inches.........
