Im not sure this is not a very stupid question?
I was sitting here thinking about my roof and skinning it today .
I was thinking that it would be nice to have a big piece of rubber membrane type material to put on the top of luan before puttng alluminum on . My first thought was garden pond liner , sold at box store.
WOULD THIS BE STUPID TO DO ?

Thanks
Norm

Ice and Water Shield

You might consider "Ice and Water" shield. This stuff is made for roof edges and valleys. It usually comes in 3 foot rolls and sticks down on one side. You would have overlap seams, but I think they would not be noticable through the aluminum.

yes it's a bad idea to me..because you want the wood to breath under the aluminum...
this is just my opinion and isn't in any way to be considered the only true answer to your question. :D

Tyvek might be an option...it breathes, is water resistant, and would be easier to work than the pond liner. Lighter also. Just an idea. Doug
