type of glue for roof plywood

I just started building a 5 x 10 benroy in mid Aug. Today I installed the first layer of 1/8 in baltic plywood on the roof I want to add a second layer of 1/8 but would like some advice on whether to use titebond III, a PL or even liquid nail for adhesive. Which type (or something better) do you recommend and what's the best way to spread it? Or - does the glue even need to be distributed over the entire surface?

I recommend PL due to its gap filling ability. Try as hard as you like, that second layer will not want to lay down tightly against the first layer and the PL will fill the gaps.

Actually, I used epoxy on the edges and PL everywhere else. That gave me a good bond where I needed it most, while the PL ensures everything in the middle doesn't move around any.

PL premium. Spread with a disposable (plastic) v-notched trowel or make yourself one cut with pinking shears from plastic .

I only used 1 layer of 1/8" ply before the aluminum but that is exactly what I did. Epoxy on the edge and PL on the spars.

I'm only using one layer, also.

Doc - They're speaking of PL Premium Construction Adhesive. I used a bunch of it in my build. It's good stuff. Here's a link:

Titebond makes a heavy duty construction adhesive similar to the PL Premium. The benefit of these is that they have gap-filling properties where the Titebond III (or II) do not.

In my build, where wood/plywood are in close tolerances I have used Titebond III. In other situations, I use the PL Premium.

I've always liked T-88 epoxy for use with wood-wood bonding. A non critical 1:1 mix with decent working time.
