I need to find a good place for aluminum sheets, in the Texas area. I would also like to get some recomendations of the thickness I should go with remember I am building a Camp-Inn wannabe so there are some tight curves. I am going with woodie sides so I will only need this for the top. Thanks for all the help.

SteveH or AsianFlava -- sounds like he's in your neck of the woods and I think you've got all those sources identified already. :)

I hauled mine in from Kansas City to save on the shipping since I was up there visiting my daughter anyway.

Try http://www.metals4u.com

I got my frame steel there, while I was there I asked about aluminum. They have it although I don't know if it is cheap or expensive. I also got aluminum from Trident Metals by accident.

Steve,

Try Regal Plastics, Reliance Metal Center, and all of the trailer (18 wheeler type) of manufacturers/service centers. Don't know what size or color you want, but these are the places I found in SA that had it.

Look up "lumber" or "plywood" in the yellowpages. Don't limit yourself to one of the big box stores. I had a hard time finding it also but when I checked the small specialty stores, I found it in a 2 places near me.

cool place - I will need to check that place out - thanks for sharing!

Scott, you can also try Metal by the Foot. In comparing what I paid for .032" 3003 aluminum sheeting from there, the per foot prices are almost identical

I went to a small, local lumber yard; generally, they WANT to sell , so the clerks are more helpful...
My local yard sells the ribbed aluminum roofing sheets in various colors etc.
They had no problem ordering me a 4X8 and a 4X10 sheet of plain aluminum.
As I recall, the cost was about $27 for the 4x8 and about $10 more for the 4X10..

My local lumber co. gets their roofing from a Canadian firm since we're close to the border.

In my experience; if you want something "different' or some sound advice..don't go to the big guys..
Our local yard has employees that are truly long term...probably average 15 years each...so they are a great source of knowledge..

I heard the price was going up so I went to http://www.wrisco.com/ to get mine. I was able to get for about 60 per sheet I think for 0.40 guage including tax. I went there and picked it up in my pickup so I wouldn't have to pay shipping costs.
