Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

I have oilbase exterior paint on my camper, over primer. The shell was skinned in treated plywood. The oilbase is staying on very good after 1.5 yrs, except for a couple of spots where I used Liquid Nails to fill some small voids in the plywood. I was thinking of sanding down the camper to get any loose areas clean and applying TSC Tractor and Implement Enamel. Am I making a mistake?? Should I add hardner to this paint if I do use it?? Anyone used this before? Looking to add some color. John Deer Green, NO Redneck, but not quiet to that level. Maybe Ford Blue and white. Looking to the paint Guru"s to save me from disaster. Thanks for any advise. William

I don't have any experience with that particular paint but if it comes with a hardener then I would use it. I used a Valspar Supreme Acrylic Enamel trailer paint (with a hardener) and it came out great. The hardener will give you more gloss and a longer life. Just my .02.

While I'm no expert on this, I'd think that any compatible base would work with what you are wanting to do. If you keep with an oil base, over an oil base OK....Don't put an acrylic, enamel/urethane/Imron over it as the solvents are too hot and will cause the enamel to lift and do some amazing things, none of which would be positive. I'd think your best bet is to get with the paint supplier and tell him exactly what you are going to overlay with it and what might be the correct way to do it. Doug

I like your graphics Planovet. The contrast of color and shape really worked out well.
Doug Im sure your right. It might be hard for me to find someone in a paint store in my area that will know whats compatable. I'll try though.
Maybe if I find a good paint guy, I'll talk him into building a teardrop, get him to join our forum. Once he gets addicted to all this his knowledge will be ours for the takeing
