...go big or go home

...sorry, that's actually an inside joke around here...as valuable as space is in a TD, I say go with the bigger size to maximize usable space....................

Well if your already thinking 5 x 10 and that's the only thing holding you up. Then build a 5 x 10. You won't come back later after you finish your build and say "I wish I built a 5 x 10". Just remember, it'll be more of a challenge because we live in a 4 x 8 world.

Heck put the 5 X 8 on the 5 X 10 frame and make yourself a toy hauler.

Consider your tow vehicle. If you have a small two vehicle, the the 5 x 8.
If you have the towing capacity, then I vote for the 5 X 10. Mine is 5 x 10 and I enjoy the added storage space in the galley.

Review the Baja Benroy album, and then decide if you want to go smaller...

I have to agree with Jack and Gage 5x10. Of course Im a little biased as thats what I built. Haven't regreted it one bit. Love the extra space for putting things away at night and still have room for both of us and two small dogs. Jack, Gage and Mikes reasoning is always sound advice. Built mine based on Mikes Benroy design and Generic Benroy Ideas. Best move I made when building. That and reading a lot of the true experts advice even tho I made modificatons and did not follow Gages main advice to take your time and that I regret.

5 X 10 gets my vote. Mine is a 6 X 8. The width is nice. 5 would be enough. But another 2 feet for the galley would be a big plus.

I went 5x9'7".
The curve at the bow brought her up to a full 10 feet.

5x10 is what we did and I'm very happy i added the extra 2 feet. It makes construction a bit more challenging but it is well worth it.

5 X 10
I'm not finished with my 5X8 and already wish I had gone bigger.
Live and learn.
