Can somebody give me a link to the picture of someones plumbing set up on their propane tank that allowed them to refill small propane bottles?

Carl, goto any Harbor Freight or most hardware stores and get a propane refill adapter and you will be good togo...they are cheap and easy to use...remember, you must turn the donor tank upside down before opening valve(preferably) to ensure you get liquid propane instead of just the gas..........

I'm not certain, but I think with the new overfill protection device (valves) that the float valve will close when the tank is inverted and it is no longer possible to fill the small tanks from the bigger tanks like we used to. You used to turn the donor tank upside down so you could fill the small tank with liquid, not just gas. The new valves (that are shaped like a triangle) are mandatory now and it's illegal to fill one of the old ones except on horizontal tanks that can't be fitted with an OPD valve.

Anyone know for sure if you can fill from one of the new valves?

Gus, I have no idea...I have never refilled the little tanks since I have experienced problems with them not adequately sealing off after a use or two.................

I think with the new OPD valve tank has to stay upright.... So you just get a vapor and have to wait a while for equalization....... IF one tries this, do it outside in open and you probably will leak lots of propane and as you know leaking propane can be dangerous...

When you invert the new OPD tanks, the liquid in the tank pushes the valve to the open position. The valve should not be an issue.

they work "ok". It helps if you put the small tank in the freezier first.
