Hi/Low Tear

I have seen Hi/Low travel trailers prior, but the idea of a tear is interesting. If you made a light benough top, you could even pull it up with a handle on each end, thus avoiding the whole crank and wires system. However, if you attached anything, like shelves or cabinets to the movable part, the weight would make lifting more difficult. Building everything on the inside/base, and only having a set of walls around it would be great for a small standie. I'd be interested if anyone has built something along these lines or designed one.
