Using MDO question

I am looking at making a trailer without any rounded edges like a weekender etc...

If I used MDO and just glassed the seams and the edges do you think I could paint using topside paint right over that without glassing the entire thing?

MDO is used that way all the time in the sign industry. I used it on my last tear but did apply epoxy over it to really flatten it all out prior to painting. Just glass up your seams really well and epoxy seal all cut edges. Doug

Doug --

Just curious, how much did you pay per sheet for MDO? Most of the estimates I've gotten seemed a bit high. :money:

I used 1/2" X 4' X 10' MDO and paid $48 a sheet. This was 5 years ago.

That's a bit less than what I was quoted per sheet for 1/4"

I think I'm going with Luan... My build requires over 10 sheets.

52.95$ for 5/8" sheets...36.95 for 3/8" that was '07 pricing. Doug
