Plastic laminate?

Has anybody explored the possibility of laminating the outside of their trailer with kitchen countertop type laminate? Would it stand up to the elements? The designs are almost limitless.

Eddie (EVAC A SHACK) has covered a couple of tears with regular formica. The color will tend to fade.

I was wondering why the water balloon was getting bigger... and then it hit me.

Properly done, it should hold up to years of use/abuse. (Other than the fading mentioned).

I used it for the bottom of my tear instead of going with the ghastly black gooey tar seems to be the most popular route to weatherproofing the bottom.

Ed recommends using the gloss instead of the matt finish.
If it does fade Armor All or Counter Top Magic might bring it back to life. It does shrink some over time. If it gets scratched it stays scratched. :D Danny

it also gets very brittle from exposure to the sun.. best to keep it covered as much as you can. a friend of mine covered a cube van with it but didn't use contact cement, he used PL Premium applied with a notched trowel. it's still stuck but he had to cover the seams with trim because it did shrink and left 1/4" gaps between the sheets. you could also see a little curl at the edges too. other than that, so far so good. picked a gross colour though.
