Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

I had two pieces of 8' commercial awning tracks left over. Decide to cut one down and put 4' over each door and experiment with some awnings.

What do you think? (opened that door)









I will play with ideas to make it look better and adding more supports.

I like the idea Bob! An awning is a nice feature to have. I had mine made with some pockets sewn into the corners. That way I can install some shock corded tent poles, let them cross in the center, velcro is used to tie them to the top at that point, and it lifts it up for complete standing headroom. Water runs off as well. I've also found that if there is no wind, that the awning will completely support itself with those and no guy lines are needed on the poles at all. Have fun playing around with it...I think you'll really like it in the end. If you have another section of the material, put it on the other side and you could make an adjustable rack on the roof as well as an awning on whichever side you want. Doug

What if you reversed it...So it attaches on one side and the poles are on the other. That way the whole top is covered also and it drains right off instead of (possibly) into the trailer...

Ken, good thought there, I am kinda shooting for having both doors having one. But that is not out of the question either. I guess it depends on the room you have at a site to hang one or two. I have about 8 tarps of various sizes to play with, before a custom awning like Dougs can be made or fall into my hands.
