Hi all. just went to lowes all they have is foil foamboard 3/4 inch thick locally here.

will pl 200 work for making luan/foilfoamboard/luan laminated panels?

if it will i will be using the back of a trowel to skim coat it on for a fullspread

on the tube it says a few nice key features. can bond to wood and metal (so foil is covered) and it can flex a bit so it wont crack out later on wich sounds nice.

I used the foil backed insulation from Lowe's but I peeled off the foil and plastic backing. For adhesive, I used PL Premium.

I put the PL on in a wavy pattern, pressed on the insulation or plywood, and then used a J-roller to help squish out the adhesive followed by clamps or screws. This method seems to have worked quite well.

Some have used a notched trowel but that is a lot of work and would be messy.

aye i'd probably used a notched trowel or somethin so i get a full spread base. just checked out the pl premium. its 4.58 a tube vs pl 200 at 1.14 a tube. i can get a whole case of pl 200 for just over 11 dollars at lowes. wich looks mighty nice.
