--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I would like to replace my aluminum poles that hold up my galley with a pair of gas lifts. Would anyone like to share with me just how to go about this.
I know I have to weigh the galley hatch door...that's about all I know... any advice would be well appreciated.

Thanks, Zillions..

Hi Tim and Greetings from the otherside of the Atlantic. From Finland.

1st off you sure have a sweet looking tear. I like it much. :applause:

2ndly Ive gone through the gas shocks install myself and remember the trial and tribulations of finding the correct Newtons and length so here is the thread that says it all. Lots of good advice and specs from TonyJ and Sonetpro and many others.

Its good to read majority of it as it helps a lot. Here,s the link.

Page 3 is good advice from TonyJ - With photos there too. I did mine with 6 inches away from the hinge and 3 inches on the bottom inwards.Your hatch looks almost as mine. ;)

By the way go over to TonyJ,s gallery and you,ll find the photos with measurements and all in the pics. This also will help a lot.

Hope this helps

Thank you so very much, Finn. I just needed a starting point and the information will guide me through this. One day I will get to the Scandanavian side and visit. My people are from Sweden. You also have a beautiful dog & TD.
