help with roof

i built my first teardrop and used 3/8 plywood on the roof.i have covered it with 2 coats of klitz exterior primer/sealer.
does anyone know if elastomeric roof seal can be applied over wood.can directions only refer to metal,rubber membrane.trying to hold cost down.liquid rubber is beyond budget
