Stabilizer Jacks

Just wondering as to how many of you use stabilizer jacks on your tears?

Thinking if they are worth installing or no?
Are they actually needed or not?

It's your choice Finn. I have two on mine. One at each rear corner. They just keep the tear from movement when someone might be playing around inside and doesn't want the whole camp ground to know. I'm not putting them on the KIT I'm rebuilding.

We have two on our back end. My wife feels that they make a big difference. And anything that makes the wife feel better, makes me feel better.

I got them on my Scad-A-Bout, it was a after thought after reading may posts on this site.

I think they help, and at the very least they don't hurt.

We do not have them and the Mega-Mini is stable enough that it is not really needed. The only case where I feel it might be of value is in changing a tire. We do have leveling blocks for the wheels.

I have 4 on my standy but seldom use the front 2. The rear ones and the tongue jack do a good job. When I set up I drop the front of the trailer a little, put the rear jacks down and then crank the front up level. There ends up being a little pressure on 3 points and it's pretty stable.

Ahhh yeah Gage thats definitely the answer. I wouldnt want the entire camp ground to know either. But then again we might only be goin to places that them thar bears is our neighbors. And nobody else.

I didn't put any jacks on ours...so if this tear's a rockin'...well, you know what not to do!

Actually, it seems to be perfectly stable (even when there's a little playing going on).

Heikki....they can also level as well as stabilize. I have those like you have shown on the rears of all my tears, none on the standy. I'll use a jack stand instead. Just remember to fold them up before you take off. Doug

That's the kind we have. They also work well for leveling the camper.

I don't have any stabilizers.

Early on I rigged up some, but only used them once.

I decided they weren't worth the trouble / weight / cost for me. I have a larger travel trailer and I rarely Stabilize that one either.

Guess I like rock and roll!
