Aluminium roof skin fitting

Hi ive been trying to find a thread on this but cant ,so heres my question how do people on here fit the aluminium skin roof do you bond it on & if so what do you recomend for this or screw it on ,all opinions would be welcome,ive just purchased a part built as a project & seeing the standard of teardrops on here have some way to go ,but hey we all have to start somewhere thanks Nick :)[/img]

Many people "float" the skin and only contain it on the outer edges with the trim cap, roof vent etc....I used some carpet cement to tack mine down, mostly because it seemed easier to do for me as I work by myself. either way will work fine. Same thing on the sides, the trim for the door, hatch and roof line trim will hold it all. Doug

I "floated" my aluminum roof. I laid it on the roof and tacked it down on the edges with some staples. The trim went over the staples. Worked for me. Here in Texas it can get pretty hot in the summer. The aluminum can expand a little without being glued down. :thumbsup:
