Having him weld one up, is probably much less expensive than buying one and having it shipped over. I'd be willing to bet that it wouldn't add that much value to the project.

Heikki...Danny uses those on his frames and I though it would be nice having the battery tucked out of the way. I have no idea whether it will work for me, but my current trailer keeps the battery in the tongue box, and that's valuable storage space!!! I bought it off ebay after a search for bolt in battery box...Dave

Speedway Motorssells them and they also have a less expensive model forweld in onlybut the bolt in welds in really nice. I use a group 24 marine battery and have to extend the bolts with a nut and all thread tacked in place to fit the battery height. I buy Costco batteries and other brands may be of a different height and width. Putting a trap door in the floor will make placement and removal/maintenance of the battery a breeze compared to struggling under the teardrop. Group 24 batteries weigh about 47 pounds.:D Danny

I really like your idea on it Danny. Here that battery needs to be enclosed in one of them battery cases too so dont know if it has enough room.

I also found out them batteries are heavy..

Danny how did you make the hatch door or service hatch sort of speak to the floor?

Just look about anywhere that sells race car parts. They will have different styles and different stuff that could come in handy.

Heikki, I lived in an old house for 14 years so this one was a no brainer  .
Their called turn buttons & I used 2 on each hatch to cinch it to the bottom of the floor.
A screw goes in the hole and they have raised spots on each end to suck it up tight.
A simple and cheap solution.

That's a perfect match to the one that serves as a latch on the door to the camping equipment room/cabinet out in my garage.......
