Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

Hey folks. I was trying to look for a tool that makes a cut into tubing the same radius as the tube itself.. Im building the roof rack for our tear and I have a tube and or pipe bending tool however in order to splice into the tube it gives a rounded or diameter equal cut like tube itself.

Im lost in my words for it in English..I went looking for this tool cutter however I cant find anything like it..any name or photo or link would be of help.

I know that the tube can be welded to the other however it would be helpful and easier to do so if the tube is cut at the end to match the radius of that specified adjoining tubing..

Now to see if I can come up with the name in our language or languages. its a pain when you try to think of things in 3 or 4 languages at the same time.

Whats the price of them any ideas?

Depends where you buy them....there are all kinds on the internet and some are "jigs" that use your existing Drill Press others are self-contained tools.

Iver never used one but I shall give it a try.. as soon as I locate one.

Ok After a bit of searching I found a Finnish Forum that has this topic however to my surprise a guy had ordered one from Harbor Freight USA.

But ok if your into the Finnish Language (Which I Doubt) Its name is
(Viistekone) this took me to some heavy duty industrial machines.. too big of an investment for a roof rack

you can use a hole saw and a portable electric drill. I've done it many times with good results. just drill the pilot hole through the pipe first and replace the drill bit in the hole saw with a 1/4" steel rod long enough to go all the way through the pipe. if the pipe is really thin you can use a hole saw made for tile with diamond grit rather than saw teeth.

I just took a look see in my tools and low n behold I just found my some hole cutter blades..

Im using 20mm aluminum tubing for a test run.. Maybe its strong enough to use for a rack.. if not I have some electrical conduit here too.

Wow I just took a peek into your gallery and looks like your a pro in wood working. Very Nice Work youve done.
This is what caught my eye.. curious eye that is.

If you are not going to be doing enough to warrant the purchase of a notcher check out this link for another technique using a chop saw
