Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

I'm looking for feedback from teardroppers who covered the exterior of their trailers with vinyl:

1) What brand/type of vinyl did you use?
2) How did you glue it down?
3) How old is your trailer?
4) Has your trailer sat out exposed to the elements in the summer/winter?
5) How is your vinyl holding up?
6) Issues to be aware of?
7) Would you do it again?

I'm curious, what did you have in mind?

Many have used vinyl and have had satisfactory results - they'll be along shortly to give a more complete answer to your questions, However - being an upholsterer for many years - I'll just make a note that NO material or fabric lasts forever when exposed to the elements.

Hello Rick and Greetings from the country of Finland. Ive got Marine Vinyl on ours. Its been on now for over 3 years. Yes its out in the elements summer and winter however not directly but in a heavy duty porta shelter.
A wholesome price of 350 Euro specially made for us. So it wasnt cheap.

Vinyl is holding up fine with 4mm foam underneath with the fiberglass skin under it.

As far as care of it we use Marine vinyl cleaner and spray to shine it up.

Still like brand new. Our weather changes rapidly. And with 6 months of darkness and snow.. Id say its been tested.

i haven't built a trailer (yet) covered with vinyl, but
my yurt is covered with heavy vinyl that had a former life as billboards...

1. found it on ebay, huge billboards, white on the other side
2. wall panels adjoining with wide velcro, roof is simply two tarps overlapped and tied down
3. going on 4 years, situated at a windy spot

6. make sure it's taut and secure, if the wind gets ahold of it
it will flap it and flog itself and cause weak spots

it's translucent, maintenance-free and watching the morning sunlight thru the roof is heavenly.

We are looking to repair our deck with a material called Duradeck. It is a vinyl material that might deserve consideration. 20 year warranty on the material.

I think the vinyl roof will be the way I go...if I ever get there!! Finally got a hitch on the minivan, now waiting for the trailer I want to go on sale.
