I found a guy selling a boatload of 6" spring clamps with a 2" opening for $1 each. Is that likely too small to to have much use for a tear build? (Gen Ben)I was thinking that 3" is about as small as you would normally use but since the price is right I will get some if it looks like I could use them.

Those are a good start... 3/4 walls with ply and they will work well... I have smaller ones but don't use them often... the sliding bar clamps are also good. My collection goes up to 18" on those.
If I was in the market, I would get at least 8 of them.. then you could get some larger ones to compliment the collection (at walmart or harbor freight). They are not that expensive...

You can never have too many clamps and those are a nice size. I'd go for it.

I bought a dozen that size from home depot for .99 each. They come in very handy, perhaps the best use I have found for them is holding a straight edge for a guide when using a circular saw.

If I can get from HD for the same price, I may as well do that because the seller is a half-hour away from me. Thanks for the heads-up.
