Is it possible to adapt a 30# aluminum forklift propane bottle using a new OPD valve?

I believe forklift bottle are exempt from OPD requirements...

They (forklift bottle) do have both a liquid draw and a vapor draw fitting independent of fill valve/fitting...

Worthington industries makes vertical aluminum tanks in the #6 to #40 pound range and is already equipped with OPD valves....

If you are looking for a aluminum horizontal cylinder with OPD....

A twenty # steel forklift tank wholesales for $150 dollars here and weigh a ton. I have no idea what an aluminum 30# would sell for but its more that I am willing to pay.

I have come to the conclusion that buying a new vertical 33.5 Lb aluminum bottle with OPD valve is probably the best idea and ultimately would be about the same cost. The weight penalty full is that a 33.5 lb aluminum is 13.5Lbs more compared to a steel 20# with 3.1 gals more propane. The composite propane tanks are the same weight as aluminum.
