Spar Urathane, Spar Varnish, Poly Crilic???

I know that all these will seal the wood, protect the finish and so on. But what is the difference in them? I'm looking at staining my cabinets by hand, and spraying (aerosol) one of these on top.

And the 4th choice; which I like a lot is Deft clear finish as it doesn't add any color; it's lacquer

I pollyed everything but came back over with lacquer because it sealed out the smells..... You can also add a nice amber color if you don't get the clear.

Varnish is old fashioned crap, Urethane is modern and lasts a lot longer. anything with acrylic in it should not be used on things that don't live in the house.. acrylics are too hard and stiff to survive the constant expansion/ contraction of wood. that leaves you Spar Urethane.

Yes, I agree varnish is the outdated stuff, and Spar urethane is outdoor and Poly Crylic is indoor. I would have used Spar urethane in and out, but the indoor stuff cures much faster and I got all three coats on in one day, (for the first side ) I bought a gallon, and brushed it on.
