Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

Greetings. It,s been a while since I've posted anything. I took my tiny trailer out for a spin the other day and noticed that the paint on the front has cracked. It sit's outside and the front faces the south. So I took it down to the local Line X dealer and asked how much to coat? About $1300 they said. Then an older employee talked to me for a bit and said what prob happened is a lot of the plywood from the big box stores is still a bit wet and what might have happened is the paint cracked when it dried. So, I have a quart of white marine paint still so I will sand and repaint and change the color from green to white. I have been looking at various options for coatings from herculiner to durabeck to those elastomeric coatings from the big box stores. The wife and I painted our house stucco with a BEHR elastomeric paint and were quite satisfied with the result so I am kind of leaning to that option. It is just starting to warm up here so as soon as I repaint I will post up a picture. I know a few here have used elastomeric types of paint and was wondering if you were satisfied with the results?

no, our home has stucco that we painted with elastomeric paint. It seems to be pretty durable and is available in many colors. I know that some of the members here have used one brand or another of this type of paint and was wondering how well it,s lasted. All that the elastomeric means is it,s a kind of rubber based coating that stays flexible. Generally the consensus seems to be to stay away from house type paint but I,m just curious. The epoxy marine paint I first used on my trailer did not last the winter without developing some cracks. I,m just trying to check out options for recoating my little trailer. Options I,ve looked at so far include fresh paint, line x , aluminum, or that FRP stuff.

Scott has a southwest motife going complete with stucco look.

I'm interested to hear comments on the elastomeric/Kool Seal paint as well. Durability, flexibility, ease of application. I'm also looking at marine vinyl with foam padding, but painting sounds like a lot less work.

The idea that it's flexible might make it a good choice for a teardrop roof/sides.. Just white tho. I wonder if it can be tinted a color.
