Our teardrop is under construction and we just put aluminum skins on it. Would appreciate any ideas as to what to use on the aluminum to get smudges, glue etc. off? Not ready to polish yet but just want to clean it up. Any imput is appreciated....Thanks Steve E

You didn't mention what type glue. Your best bet is to use the solvent suggested for the glue. Whatever it is, it won't phase the aluminum.

If you're talking fingerprints, just try soap and water.

As I finish up, I am experimenting with different exterior treatments. I polished one side and, well, it needs more buffing. It took the matte look away, but now I feel like I've made a big committment. For new aluminum with mill finish, I used a can of Stainless Steel Polish (which also works great on aluminum) It sprays on, hazes and is wiped off. Does the trick and quick and easy. The can's not so cheap. To remove glue and other gunk, lacquer (liquor) thinner works well. A little on a rag and it takes everything, including silicone, right off the aluminum.
