Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

I am in the process of building my first TD, and I have seen so many TD on here. Many have a sink with a water faucet. Where does everyone with these put the water tank? And, where can one buy a tank that will fit?

I would appreciate any help you can give me. If you have pictures, that would also be a great help as well.

I plan on putting mine beneath the floor just behind the axle. Ebay is a good source for tanks.

wrecking yards with rv's and campers in them all have water tanks and 12v dc pumps too!

Our illustrious government saves us from ourselves (certain doom by recycling a water tank) again!

Got mine online. Most RV stores have them for sell.

Well if you were conservativ on the water use you could use a large water cooler and put it under the sink or counter.

ah maybe someone on craigslist has a camper that needs torn apart for a water tank hehe. 130 bucks "feels" expensive for only 12 gallons of water storage.

i agree with you I spent 60 dollars on the 10 gallon tank plus the pump and the fixture, sink and plumbing and the headaches and such. A little too late, someone suggested fresh water tanks that i could put on the outside of my build, oh well. The next one I guess.

Personally, from experience, I'm taking the water tank out. I will leave the connection for campground hose connection when I use one, but I find for most times when boondocking . . . .I carry 5 gal. jugs in the truck.''I have several tanks from tear-downs, I can provide them just for the cost of postage. I can take pics if you want.

Thanks everyone. I will have to think about putting one in. I really do not want to waste too much space in the galley, as there isn't much to start with. Plus, if I put it underneath, then it will freeze if we go camping in the winter months (gets real cold here in Colorado).

I do appreciate everyones input. It really helps. Ok, on with the build!!!!

Our 14gal is in the head board next to the pump. the rest of the space is normally taken up with dirty cloths
I have been looking at flexible marine water tanks to add in when additional water is desired for desert dry camping and a 5Gal cubitainer can be used to fill the tanks externally (sit on top of the tear and run through the filters).

It's kind of where you can fit it and your call...but keep in mind that water weighs roughly 8.4# per gallon....10 gallon...85 pounds which is roughly the weight of a typical Coleman cooler loaded with ice and beverages. Don't get goofy on your balance/tongue weight with a full tank. Me...I'd keep it near your axle as best as possible. Doug
