window screen

Postby toys4youtoo » Tue Jul 13, 2010 10:38 am

I am currently building a generic benroy, I found some used windows from a passenger van/bus. My problem is how do I make screens for the windows. I have asked at some screen places but they say since there is a curve they cant. I live in Los Angeles area. Can anyone give me help. Thanks

I'd like to know the answer to your question too. My dog chewed one of my screens into a million pieces. I called up Hehr and they wanted $80 to send me a replacement screen. $60 for the screen and $20 for shipping. Needless to say, I still don't have the screen.

If you have the frame I would go to hardware store buy more screen and spline Julie re-did ours the jalosie windows we bought second hand we went a step further and put solar screen to help with heat and privacy.
you could find and ace hardware store they sometimes rescreen

I may have dreamed it but I swear someone on here put a cloth edging on a screen section and adheared velcro to the hard edge around the window and sewed on the matching velcro to the cloth edge of the screen.

Press in on and presto a bug proof breeze strainer. :D
