Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

Hey all... I'm making progress on the TD and am getting to the point where I need to start thinking about the outside skin. I was going to paint it and then I thought I might make a woody out of it.. But then when I started thinking about how much work either of those would be so I decided that for my first TD I might as well do an aluminum skin. But then I started looking around for aluminum in 6' widths (My TD is 5'6"). As of yet, I haven't been able to find anyone with 6' widths. Am I chasing my tail looking or should I just resign myself to using 4x8 or 4x10 sheet and do some splicing with T-bar or something like that?

Missed my original May completion date but you get great ideas before you find out how much work is involved in doing it right.

I'm a regular browser of the forum and appreciate all the great information available.

Hope your all out there putting miles on your TDs and hope to be doing the same by the end of the year.

Tractor/trailer repair shops will have it at 103" on a coil. I bought mine from Fruehauf. Won't be plastic covered, but won't cost as much either. Doug

Got mine at Lufkin trailers. I'm afraid to see what it costs now. I don't remember exactly what I paid, but I think it was in the $15-17/ft range.
